This is a typical hotel in Panajachel, on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, Central America. Most of the small hotels are built around a garden, and are very clean. the hotels owned and operated by Maya families are particularly recommended.

This is a typical hotel room in many of the Maya family-owned small hotels in Panajachel, on Lake Atitlan, in Guatemala, Central America. The big ugly concrete box hotels built by the non-Maya have a hard time competing with the lovely gardens and friendly Maya people who run these 10-20 room pensions.
